Pregnancy Life

I'm 27 weeks today which means I'm officially in the THIRD TRIMESTER of my pregnancy! Lately, I feel like it's been flying by. The beginning seemed slower because I was so anxious for the next milestone like hearing the heartbeat, having the first ultrasound, finding out the gender, feeling her kick for the first time, and having the 20 week ultrasound. Now all the big events, expect the due date, are over which means that each week comes and goes more quickly.
Up to this point, my pregnancy has been pretty decent! I didn't get too sick during the first trimester, although I had to eat a lot of saltine crackers so I wouldn't feel nauseous. After being at school and work all day, I was so tired towards the end of the day and just wanted to relax and lay on the couch. Casey was such a sweet husband and took over the wife role by making dinner for us every night. I was so thankful for that because cooking was the last thing I wanted to do. Once the second trimester came, I felt so much more active and back to normal.
One thing I love to do is to hear our baby's heartbeat. Casey's sister let us borrow an at-home doppler so we can listen to her heartbeat whenever we want to. I am obsessed with it!
My favorite thing about being pregnant is feeling her kick and move around. It makes me so happy every time! I randomly grab Casey's hand all the time and put it on my stomach so he can feel too. I love the smile he gets on his face when he feels her kick. I am so excited to see Casey hold our baby in his arms for the first time!
Casey and I finally have all the main furniture for the baby nursery, which I am really excited about!
We bought a crib and borrowed a bassinet from Casey's sister to use for the first few months.
I have decided I am obssessed with little headbands and flowers. I want our baby to have a headband or bow in her hair at all times because I think it looks so dang cute! I love that I can put the flower on whatever color headband I want based on her outfit. I love being able to mix and match.
I know I still have a little while longer until her due date, but for now I am doing good! I know my stomach is going to keep getting bigger and I'll feel more and more uncomfortable, so I'm not sure if my attitude will be so positive when it gets closer to October.

It's About Time

I have entered the blogging world again! Hopefully this time will be for good. I had a blog forever ago, but I deleted it because I only had a couple posts. I decided that since so much has happened in the year Casey and I have been married, that I should start another blog and stay updated on what is going on with our family!
I'll summarize the year in a nutshell. Casey and I got married in the Manti Temple on August 27, 2011. We moved into a one bedroom apartment until December and moved to where we live now, which is a two bedroom apartment. We have loved living here and especially loved having the extra bedroom.
Here are a few highlights from our first year as husband and wife:
*We went to the NFR in Vegas the beginning of December. It was my first time and I wasn't sure what I would think about it, but I absolutely loved it. It was so much fun. We went with Casey's parents and hung out in Vegas and went to the NFR three nights!
*One MAJOR change for me was that a couple months after we got married, I chopped my hair off! My hair was sooo long and I was up for trying something different. If I was going to cut it short, I might as well cut it really short. So I did! I could NOT believe I actually cut it, but I really liked it even thought it took a while to get use to. It was so weird not being able to put it in a ponytail. It's finally grown out a ton since then and I'm going to let it keep growing out.
*I"M PREGNANT!!! Casey and I are going to be parents and we couldn't be happier! I'm due October 18th. This is the announcement I emailed to my parents telling them. It says: Guess what? You're getting a new grandkid. October 2012. They were so shocked and excited at the same time!
To tell Casey's family, we got a little white shirt and Casey wrote on it: I am getting a new cousin! Casey put the shirt on our little niece and set her in the middle of the room while all of us were sitting on the couch. They all read it and finally realized that we were having a baby. It was so fun!
This is this box I made to tell everyone the gender. We filled it with pink balloons. We made everyone guess what they thought the gender was! Casey and I opened the box at the same time and out came the pink balloons!
*In May, Casey and I took a trip to Wisconsin and Tennessee. Wisconsin is where Casey served his mission and Tennessee is where I grew up. It was so much fun! We visited a lot of Casey's friends from his mission and went to a mission farewell of a girl he baptized. I loved meeting the people he taught and met from his mission!

We went on a tour of Lambeau Field where the Packers play and also a tour of the Brewers baseball stadium. One of the nights, we went to a Brewers game, which was my first Major League Baseball game and it was amazing!
Before the Brewers game
In Tennessee, I showed Casey the town I grew up in and visited a few family friends and we even got to visit my old house! The nice couple living there gave us a tour. It was so weird seeing the house I grew up in with different furniture and decorations. One of the nights, we had tickets to the Grand Ole Opry and watched a lot of artists perform including Rascal Flatts and Kelly Pickler. We loved it! It was great to visit Tennessee again! I'm so happy I was able to share my childhood stories with my husband and let him see my hometown.
*Casey has found a new hobby! He has discovered refurbishing old furniture. We bought some old furniture and Casey redid them for our baby nursey. He sanded them down and painted them to match our crib set. He did such an amazing job and has saved us a ton of money during the process. Here is the before and after pictures of the three pieces of furniture he redid for the baby's room. I can't wait to set up and decorate her room. It's going to be fun!
Well there it is...our life up until this point. I love looking back at the fun things we've done so far and excited to keep making memories together!!
